What has happened?

Seems the days have been passing with my lacking ideas about what to mention in here 🙁

Fridai happened to pass comment tonight about the lack of blah blah on here so now I guess I must talk some shit since this was all my idea.

Hmmm another Deathwing kill tonight and after a little confusion about our attempts to improve our raid team’s loot distribution system, I was delighted to be the beneficiary of some good old fashioned /roll wins.

A couple of slight adjustments to the ranking system included an increased guild bank repair allowance for Flight Sergeants to come into line with Air Raider, thus negating the previous shortfall experienced by a couple of raiders who had the Flight Sergeant rank but were restricted in their GB repairs allowance.  That should solve that little issue.

Congratulations to the people who were promoted tonight, we now have a couple more people able to contribute to the /o (Officer) chat and we have already begun discussing certain aspects of the guild management.  I hope that this dialogue will continue and the ‘officers’ (I hate that term tbh) can get further involved with the management of the guild.

One more point, could the raid team please read up about the Suicide kings loot system, it will be implemented and will become more beneficial as the team gears up more and also as we become ever more stable as a unit.  There are youtube video links on the Facebook page and the website so nip over and look at the nice video which explains the system well.

Thanx again to Scott for the quick response and actions to all issues and concerns. I’m glad u also picked up the “shift” in attitude and that u are doing your best to rip and grip it back to what it should be. 🙂 Johan, we will aim to fix that lich king problem for u this week we will do it HC just because we can, it will be quick and nasty, not for us, but poor Arthus will not know what hit him.:) Just for clarification as to why Manacle left. i didn’t leave just to join a raid guild, i knew we will get the raiding sorted and so we did, but i wasn’t part of that team and understandably so as i missed the first 2 raids the guild attempted.:( i did try to get into the raid team but wasn’t successful for some reason, i “whored” myself out and was picked up by levia(fees as to what i cost not to be mentioned,i might come through as being cheap LMAO) and joined their raid, i thought it would be unfair of me to expect them to take me on their raids every week and leave a guildie behind just because my gear was better and that was my main reason for moving manacle to their guild.i’m a very firm believer of fair must be fair. Dambusters is my wow home and always will be. I have real friends in dambusters even thought i’ve never met or seen most of them.

    See u all later tonight.

    Cheers

    Hey

I must say I tend to agree a lot with Pieter on the points he has raised. I have been part of the Guild for more than a year now. A casual player, main is Jlv and alt is Equitem.

When I first joined it was like “wow” these guys are so friendly and it still reflects from the older guild members. But the newer members don’t seem to have that quality. Or they don’t respect the older guild members. A lot of the latest I have noticed increased arguments ect.

On to raiding as I said I’m a casual player. The first guild raids were awesome. My first major raid was ICC with the guild and I still haven’t killed LK 🙁 . Everybody joked about if the group wiped. My point is the guild raid groups are maybe too serious/ or have become to serious. I understand there are some fundamentals/prerequisites involved for raiding. And nobody wants to wipe. But the looting system for the main raid not so favourable. For instance a guildie joins the raid and is not one of the core raiding members shouldn’t he/she or everyone for that instance have the 50/50 chance of rolling on the loot. They worked just as hard as the rest for that instance. If somebody wins and don’t need it they can trade.

That said I also believe any GL likes to see their guild progressing in all areas. Overall the guild seems to be doing good on the raiding side.

Dambusters will stay my WoW home.

    Cheers

You’ve taken a lot of time and effort into your replies Manacle, I really appreciate that. I have been getting the same feelings as you have due to the ‘shift’ in attitude in the guild. What I would like to convey is that we have been having a rather large turnaround in character invites so it’s possible the newer members do not always understand the true ethos of the guild. This is partly the reason for my implementation today of a clear rules explanation so that people can read and understand what is expected of them. We have had our fair share of drama (like a lot of guilds) and I must work hard to try to minimise that potential drama as a priority. To slow the mass invites I have recently curtailed low ranked characters from being able to invite people and I will soon be implementing an actual application system through the guild website to ensure only like minded, socially aware people will be joining us.

There are a few people in the guild who search for the nostalgic past where the guild appeared to be more helpful but I am not 100% sure that it’s changed so much. There are certain times of day where it is quiet and even I get ignored lol. I can recall that happening to me since the inception of the guild.

The implementation of a raid team will have caused a rift among the super-casual members of the guild because they always remember it as only a social levelling guild. I would like to stress that the Dambusters will never be a raiding guild. That said however, we have every right to create our own devoted core team to make our own progress while remaining in the guild we love. People who do question this recent raid focus must remember the actual number of great friendly Dambusters we have lost in the past to raiding guilds (including yourself Manacle) because the raiding positions in the guild have been so few in the past. I want to try to reduce the number of excellent friends and skilled players we lose each year due to our lack of end-game content as a guild.

In addition to this, we have to remember that poor old Bigticket has his own gaming ambitions aswell 😀
It’s all very well for all you Dambusters guildies to run off to raiding guilds to get your character geared etc but I can never ever leave the guild and I would never want to. As a result, it’s in my interest to try to improve myself as a player so that I can fulfil my own needs as a raider and also that I may be looked upon as a valuable adviser to the guild as an experienced killer of current bosses etc 🙂 We have a duty as a guild not to make the guys and gals in the raid team feel uncomfortable because they raid. You will find that most of the current raid team are long serving members of the Dambusters. The rank of Air Raider does not grant any particularly special rights or allowances as explained in the Rankings page in this blog and also on the guild website.

Any Air Raider who feels their position gives them special privileges may refer themselves directly to the guild rules. Anyone who feels that another member is in contravention of the rules are encouraged to take a screenshot and email me with the evidence and they can expect swift action. ‘Kids’ who disrespect their guildies are not welcome here 😀

    Howzit Scott.
If i can be deadly honest this loot system is shit. the problem with this is that almost no pug will ever join in the event where we need them if they know this is the loot system we use. Myself will never join a raid group and work just as hard as the rest to kill the boss but i don’t get a fair chance to roll on loot, the only way a pug or new raider will ever get a piece of loot is , if no one else needs that loot. I’ve been in groups where the mount drops and we are 9/10 guild and the pug wins the roll, it’s shit but it’s fair. And if your fair the next time u need a pug everyone is eager to join, or the pug might even join the guild. Just my opinion, please correct me if i’m misunderstanding the loot system.

    Cheers m8.

The Suicide Kings system will benefit the core guild raid team which has become a solid unit and will not be pugging members. If someone wants to raid with the main guild raid team then best they commit and actually join the guild 🙂

That said, the second raid team will likely be using a more general need or greed/loot council system, depending on what the raid leader wants to use. That should help any pugs the team requires to fill their spots. Speak to Tenúla in the guild for further details about the second raid team and the requirements.

Great to see your point Pete, hopefully more people will make comment with their thoughts.

        Hey Scott.
Thanx for the reply and i understand the idea behind the system and again i’m going to be bluntly honest as i feel the guild is most of ours second home. When i joined the guild x years ago(can’t remember exactly when), i absolutely loved this guild, it was the friendliest, funniest, helpful and liked guild on our sever. I even left my own guild and moved all my characters over to Dambusters. It sad ens me to say that it feels like the guild and the guilds attitude has taken a massive shift or maybe it’s just me but i’ve spoken to other players in the guild and it seems i’m not the only 1. I used to love logging in because the moment u were locked in the guild chat was always buzzing with chats, jokes or just looking for some friendly trouble with another friend/guildie and that’s what i loved about the guild, the aim was to be as friendly, helpful and fun as can be. That’s why we were voted the friendliest guild on the server and rightly so but lately the aim of the guild seems to be raid progress above anything else. I’ve experienced this first hand, the last 8-12 times that i’ve logged in more than 20 players were online, guild chat was dead quiet, i greeted the guild like always and not a single response, that seemed extremely strange to me the first couple of times, i even tried greeting a second time on some occasions but still no response so that’s the friendliness gone. i recently heard a story that 1 of the new more younger players(officer-1raid team) members, was making comments to 1 of our older guildies(who by the way have been here WAY before him/her), something in the lines of doesn’t it feel strange to play with much younger players? and i thought to myself it’s actually the other way around the 15 or 16 years old officers are in minority. I’m really not 1 to complain easy and usually take stuff like this in my stride but some of the new members are walking around with a massive chips on their shoulders thinking that they are better than some of the lower ranked players in the guild because they have high ranks in the guild is part of the raid progress which seems to be the main priority, maybe i’m wrong but that’s the feeling i get of lately. another aspect that was very nice was the helpfulness of guildies, u will ask if anyone want to help u get a piece of loot in a low lvl dungeon for example and most of the times it would have been quick to get a full guild group of 85’s to help a lvl 50, just because we are that kind of guild, sadly that also seems to have changed. if there’s no mount or achievement or gear for those players they will not easily help u out. Of course if 1 of the old guildies are online they will always greet, chat or help another player with anything they need. It will be a real shame if the guild changes so much that we loose what once got us to be the most liked guild on our server and that just for raid progress. For myself the fact that we are the most licked guild out ways even killing DW on 25 hc any day. Just my personal opinion, this is not an attack on anyone or anything, just a few points that’s been bugging me for some time.

        Cheers.
