InactiveOnce again it’s time for me to post another pointless post on here and as per usual it will probably land up being more about raiding than anything else but let’s start with non raiding stuff.
As a Dambuster Warrant Officer it’s a privilege and honour to be so close and interactive with the leaders of this amazing guild that has grown in leaps and bounds since I started here on the 25th July 2012. When I started the guild was flourishing and under the leadership of Bigticket (scrud hunter) I learned my trade as a hunter. I worked my way up the ranks and before I knew it I was sucked into the lifestyle of a Dambuster. I was then offered the opportunity to grow and lead a new raid team through the final weeks of Cata and I literally shat myself but I took the leap, I watched every video, read every site, saw every blog, listened to any podcast I could find to find out how I could be the perfect raid leader. And how I could use that influence to grow and enrich the guild. When MOP dropped I had doubts as to how I would keep that up as people were levelling and my life is about raiding but 7 days after the release I was standing with 10 Dambusters in front of the Stone Guard ready to wipe (which we did) but besides that I realised that this guild is amazing and willing to put the hours in to be the best we can be.
Deep into MOP, We decided to move to another server as Xavius-EU was dying (DEAD) so we embarked on a mission (The leaders and a few others) to find a suitable server and at the time and still to this day Ragnaros-EU was the best choice. So many people said they would follow but only approx 50% moved so the search continued. I lost raiders, which caused alot of headaches but we persevered and hey we raided the first week on Ragnaros-EU with a few pugs who unknown to us would join our guild and to this day they are still here. This guild is not a raiding guild but I’m a raider (60% of my wow life) and I find it hard to keep the 2 things separate as even IRL have embarked on a mission to live the Dambuster way.
The Dambusters are the strongest we have ever been,
Bigticket, well apart from being the ugliest dwarf hunter in the EU servers we love u big guy, to me on a side note I owe you for keeping me interested in this game. The Dambusters would not be the same without you, and I would never be able to deal with your job as I know theres just too much crap being the boss. You never get the recognition you deserve but here it is. /salute. Your alts/mains have changed according to what is needed by me and I appreciate that. Bunnyboiler healed our asses all through ToT. And now Caledonia is getting smashed in the face for the benefit of the Dambusters. We know your life does not really allow for raiding but you spend time away from your bed at wee hours of the morning to kill bosses. You are a valued part of the raiding puzzle.
Wenya, OMG if I started to describe you and all you have done for this guild in the short time you have been here, I will need a year and a half. Wenya somehow landed up with us on one of our MSV farm nights and we haven’t been able to shrug her off (She was a hunter in those days Wenya (Auchindoun-EU), We fell in love with her immediately and we got her in on a few more pugs (As a BM hunter she was guaranteed some extra attention) if you don’t know yet, we love BM Hunters. She then created a shaman on this server and super levelled that Wenya, gearing up and join us in TOT killing her first current tier boss (Horridon on the 19/06/2013) damn that from then she was hooked. I was by then losing faith in myself as a raid leader and had lost my 2 assistants (Kuja and Nevra) and had gained Devilslotus as an assistant. Then a few weeks later Scott and I had a chat and decided to approach her, not to be an assistant but to be my partner in leading this guild to progressive raiding) and look where we are today. I thank you for being there. Then she decided to transfer her hunter across and unfortunately Wenya the hunter died and was resurrected as Tiorenna and once again I am getting my ass kicked.
Then we got Frank, also with his shaman Berumvar because he was raiding on Auchindoun with his main who transferred not much later on Vhati (Druid) he has become an integral part of my raid team we he and Jibbas, 2 heal most fights and are normally bored because they are both so uber. As most people know the only reason he joined was to follow his love (Wenya) who was having more fun than him and obviously abusing him to come across.
And our final raiding recruit from Auchindoun is Morphette who recreated his Warlock and levelled him and geared him to come and kick some ass here in Ragnaros, His main Morpheuz still staying on Auchindoun to raid with his guild (13/14 on SoO) so yeah he does double raiding, Grats on you Morph, I really appreciate what you do for my raid team. Even when you are trying to kill Tiorenna on trash…. Love it.
Jibbas you are doing an amazing job of keeping guild funds at a positive point, promoted website activity with Wenya, on the mission to find Wenya, which Scott showed us where she was. The guild events I know are gonna start rolling soon and I hope that I can be part of at least a few as this guild is my family. Jibbas (self proclaimed World’s Best Healer) has been levelling alts and offering up gifts and depositing gold and doing all that other stuff he does to improve the guild. Thanks Dude. Professional ping pong player.
Devilslotus (another one of the ex-Xavius-EU scruds) has also changed mains for the benefit of the guild from being Devilslotus (who might I add would have kicked your ass Cryo) to becoming Meatblocker who we have become accustomed to laughing at, he is a qualified and professional bingo player who gives up his profession to raid. Meat u r awesome and without you my wow life might have been a bore. Dude you and your Vanilla Vodka, me and Spiced Gold, Wenya and Frank on whatever they drink, and the rest of the raiders have too much fun to give this up (Sorry Scott no alcohol for you except some homemade 40+% proof port).
Sidney oh my word where do I start, As a raider he joined us in a pug and was soon convinced to join the Dambusters, killing his first boss with us on the 12th of June and being the only melee DPS on our raid team he is often being nuked by cleave damage or being forgotten about (Garrosh) forcing me to set up a new macro to interrupt him and on our kill I didn’t even use it. He has taken alot of slack from the raid team as he often over sleeps our raid times but we have curved that by Whatsapp and phoning him, Sorry Sid. He is a great, down-to-earth old man of our team but without you I think we wouldn’t be the same.
Nick started raiding with us recently on Ampera and was a healer, we then realised that 3 healing most SoO fights was pointless, so he had to start bumping that off-spec which he has done and has geared appropriately. He is also a great guy spending most of his time on mumble always willing to lend a hand on one of his 700+ alts, Nick brings with him an off heal option and a second Hero if needed. Nick has often helped us with his off heal option when we lose a healer. He is also a 3rd healer when need and as we push into Heroics I believe he will be needed to heal a little more.
Cryomaniac, oh my God have you seen his DPS, We all aim to top meters when called upon but not many of us do. Cryo is always top (even getting ranking on many bosses) sitting currently 17th on Sha of Pride for DPS in the world, and 29th on Immerseus, He could be on any high end raiding guild but he chooses the Dambusters as the way of life here suits him (Also he is a South African) Big up. Cryo is always willing to lend a hand around the guild and if he is needed will always help. He is very quiet but damn does he pack a punch.
Guys that is the main raid team of the Dambusters that nuked Garrosh for the first time on the 22nd of November. I’m so proud of this team we are now ranked in the top 10000 guilds in the world for raiding well done.
The second raid team lead by Manacle and Warsworn is also growing and at present are 8/14 they have a steady 9 people with 1 spot available, and hey it could be you. The team at the moment is new, but growing and as soon as all the people are on the right track they will chase my team. I don’t spend much time with that team but a few notes on the team so far.
Manacle, I know from way back on Xavius when he used to help us out on Deathwing, then joining our guild for MoP, he has always been a head strong player and helped us until he took a break from raiding which at that point we were in a tight spot he came back into 5.4 and now has helped the second team get to where it is, I hope he stays as is a raider at heart and his love for the game is ever visible (Also a South African)
Warsworn, I approached Warsworn to take hold of the 2nd team once I realised the need for one had grown. He took the team with Manacle and boom look where he is killing bosses and pulling more people into the guild. His schedule demanded changes to suggested raid times but its working so don’t break it.
The rest of the second team, are new to me, I haven’t spent much time with them but they seem to try their best with alot of trollage in between (Maybe a bit much) Guys you are on the right path just make sure that when raiding you don’t forget your Dambusters. We know we have to pug sometimes but you are Ambassadors to this amazing guild, and if you keep the flag flying high this guild can only go forward.
OK that’s my raiding talk done I hope.
Debbs you not just a scumbag rogue that is trying to be a horde ass, but cannot stay away from this guild, the Monthly draw is growing from strength to strength and gold is being won, people the more that enter the more you can win, 100gold per entry and you can enter on as many chars (at least level 15) as you have in the guild. The price fund total is all depending on how many people enter and well every single entry fee is used. Debbs is also the main recruitment officer and with his team of like minded recruiters the process is 95% fail proof, always have 1 rotten apple slip through the cracks and if we can’t fix him, he gets dealt with eventually. Good Job little gnome. /pat (Debbs has got crabs and has crabs forever so he cannot raid with us “well that’s his excuse”)
Diputs, AKA Stupid… Dude I HATE/LOVE you, I actually don’t know what it is about you that I don’t like but there is something (Ziza) maybe. But dude you and I r too close for comfort, we go back ages and as a Guild Bank Manager stop throwing away my agility crap. Stupid is a quiet guy and back in the day was a strong raider and still is (he also has crabs) (maybe from Debbs).
Tinytim, another quiet individual who has raided with us and probable will soon join the ranks of the second raid team. The first raid team is very unfortunate to have lost the ever reliable Warrior but he had to take a break and we had to find a replacement as we did not know how long he would be, he was only gone 2 weeks but we had to move on, u r surely missed and I believe you will be a great benefit to Warsworn’s team.
Skankas, you have also been influential on our raid team and an amazing Ambassador of the Dambusters due to the times and real life you have not always been able to raid when we have but you are another great benefit to the guild and a mate to us all. Skankas works with Scott and Debbs so I understand why he is insane.
There are many others that have contributed to where we are today but that’s for a different post. I’m tired of typing already.
Guys thanks and let’s keep this guild thriving
