Am I surprised? Not exactly.
You may ask, wtf is Bigticket talking about? Something that seems so clear to me and probably to the vast majority of you Dambusters who make this such a good guild, but that the ‘influential few’ seem to miss so willingly.
Thing is, this is not a raiding guild, let me spell that out for the ‘Raiding Egos’. T H I S I S N O T A R A I D I N G G U I L D ! ! !
Hear that? Amazed? You shouldn’t be because that fact has been referenced multiple times on this very blog and on the public chat channels since their respective inceptions. Don’t believe me? Read the bottom paragraph of the most recent post on this blog Fridai is gone!
Also I said “I feel we are doing pretty well as a social levelling guild which is still what we are remember!” in the post entitled The Power of the ‘Officers’
I allude to the humble beginnings and positive future in the lower part of The Ultimate Leader? LOL
The entire Still a social levelling guild…….. post lauds the guild’s raid team progress form the past but also clearly states my determined rhetoric that this is still a social levelling guild with rivals such as The Trivium and The Levelling Agony among the server. In comparison with these famous guilds we do considerably well on all fronts as a guild. Our raid progress is better than both and considering the massive bloating of their guild roster numbers, we have more valuable activity than Trivium and similar activity to TLA.
To return to the question, am I surprised? I am far from surprised that the people who have left the guild due to raid team drama feel that the guild is ‘dying’ because of course it’s got to be their belief that they made the right decision to leave. They may feel they left a sinking ship but trust me, this guild is anything but a sinking ship lol. The raid team (of 10 players at any 1 time) has gone through turmoil since before Fridai left the guild and continues to struggle in this current pre-MoP lull.
The server is like a ghost town these days and that makes it difficult for raid teams to retain members. This guild will thrive regardless because it was built on the solid foundations of GOOD PEOPLE. Those foundations remain firmly in place and just because a few fragile ‘raiders’ have had their sensitive egos bruised does not mean the guild is in any trouble. I will remember the roots of this guild and continue to use those inaugural values as a corner stone of example to set as we continue onto MoP. Those values will remain woven into the raid team as we continue our attempts to get people involved and try to steady the group in time for MoP raiding and beyond.

Why is it that ALMOST everyone who comments the posts here, except the owner of the blog, always seem like they want to upset someone or start a fight with someone? Can’t we all just play the game, read blogs, forums and such without cheeky comments or unnecessary use of words? lol 😛 I think that would be GREAT anyway 🙂 hehe
Also, I can’t see how people can get upset by the posts 😛 Learn how to take a joke plox (e.g. the post about poaching).

Another P.S. 😛 By this I don’t mean that some people shouldn’t be allowed to say what they think about posts…But, come on, I bet some people know how to phrase themselves differently…Maybe even able to do it in a way that doesn’t upset others 🙂

I have to LAUGH so hard to what you mentioned about the other 2 guilds… I am sorry dear GM but we are not even close to their activity or their progress.
Wow Ben, that’s a nice addition from a Dambuster. Seems you aint too proud to be in the guild these days since your recent activity is not what it used to be. Wish we could see some more of you mate. Your actual guild total activity is ranked at 94th overall so hardly what I would say is ‘finger on the pulse’ of the guild tbh bud but since you failed to do your homework on the post, I will humour you by giving a little link below to the actual guild raiding progress for the server.
In the meantime, feel free to read the post in full again and acknowledge the actual aim of the content is directed precisely at ‘raiders’ who think this guild is all about raiding progress. If it were then we would be a pretty big failure since we don’t actually have a raiding team these days. Kids like yourself ensured this by doing such things as logging in to raid with us only when it suits you, and clearing up to Warmaster, getting the drop you need and then ninja-logging us. Way to go to earn yourself high status within a guild, then trolling the GM with spurious info to boot. /Salute to you my breathtaking buddy, you have some cheek 🙂
