Old Raid Night Back With A Bang

Since it’s previous demise at the tail end of our Xavius era, ‘Old Raid Night’ has been a sore miss. It is fantastic to see such a great chance for the general Dambusters membership to get together and have some fun as a guild again like we did last night!

Hellclaw did the setting up with a little help from his friends and the Old Raid group was reborn. There is an argument to suggest that it ain’t difficult to pop something up on the calendar and spam some invites as the time draws near to raid start but the thing is, it’s not been getting done lately and that has abruptly changed with only a little bit of commitment and determination anyone could have had. Anyone didn’t tho, it was Hellclaw who did!

We had a guild general meeting last week and the subject of the Old Raid Night was brought up as a priority with the possibility of promotion for the person who would grab the bull by the horns and really get this thing going again. I really hope this fun night will happen every week without fail and become a mainstay in people’s schedules.

I will try to always be there even when I don’t necessarily need the achievements etc because it’s a great time to get to know people around the guild. There’s a lot of comedy to be had, talk of what’s happening around the guild etc while doing stuff as a team. Mumble is important to the guild community since it lets people hear the voices associated with certain character names you see each day. This gives us a feeling of closeness that we should cherish as a guild. Next time you see the name, you can imagine their voice and really see them as a person instead of just another character in a game.

If you intend to raid more challenging content or do battlegrounds together then having attended Old Raid Night will ensure you already have Mumble up and running so logging back in is as simple as 2 clicks, that is a great help for the raid team as we try to pull people into raiding.

The good feeling that comes from blowing up this content together is really easy to undervalue but as your guild leader, I am in no doubt as to it’s importance! Believe it when I say that the benefits of having that kind of evening together really brings a guild together so I would ask all Dambusters who are online and at level for the specified raid for the week to please try to attend and enjoy the experience. It’s a time when you can ask questions directed at myself, Spyrot or Debbs about the guild, raiding or recruitment. You get to poke fun at your GM like usually happens so don’t pass up that chance 😀

As I mentioned earlier, the idea of revisiting this activity was mentioned as a priority in last week’s guild meeting which I feel was a big hit and since it seems to have had a profound effect, we will be meeting more regularly. Check your calendar and try to make space in your irl schedule for Sunday 9th June at 6pm server time (just before main raid team get together) for our next Townhall Meeting. Bring questions, ideas, curiosity and listening skills to help the guild forge ahead with more good stuff!

Before that tho, remember every Saturday at 6pm will become Old Raid Night. Hope to see you there!

Good to hear that the old raid night is back. Once i am back and plugged into real life i will try to join as often as possible.
It was always entertaining, and since i have done very little of the early content, it will help with my achievements.
