The Junior Officer or ‘Chief Tech’ rank in game is the starting point for potential Officers of the future, however promotion beyond this rank is not inevitable. People should view this as recognition of leadership attributes being noticed by the Guild Leader and a period of experimentation is underway where you will be tested for potential to step up. There may be various reasons why you will either remain in this role, gain further promotion or be repositioned back among the general membership.
The rank of ‘Chief Tech’ was previously reserved for regular raid team members to facilitate improved guild repairs and access to the ‘Gibson’ guild bank tab for raiding consumables. Rather, this rank is now to be viewed as a sort of ‘Team Captain’ type role. Close contact with the Guild Leader will ensure one does not fail while in this rank.
