Actually it will continue to be Debbs all over Ragnaros’ face!
Since joining the guild, Debbs the fun lovin, lil evil (usually nakey) gnome rogue has been an inspirational figure of character around the place. It is precisely this type of character that makes a social guild worth joining.
People like Debbs, Trikié and others with a wicked and endearing sense of humour really are unsung heroes of a good guild. Remember that people stick with a guild primarily because of the friends they make there and these guys make it easy to feel welcome in a guild.
Although there’s a lot of fun and frolicks around the edges of that little gnome, there is something serious and thoughtful therein. There is calculated deliberation that goes into what he does in the game which makes his new position of ‘Chief Recruitment Officer’ a perfect fit for him. I have been impressed by his attention to detail while studying the game. He watches what people are doing, what drops people are getting and pays a lot of attention to what is going on around the guild and the server.
Debbs is in close contact with myself and Spyrot because he has made it his business to be attentive to what the guild requires from the perspective of the upper leadership. This determination to pick up information, coupled with his infectious ‘way’ with other Ragnarosians ensures he is fully armed with the knowledge of what the guild require of new recruits. On top of that, that same information he also uses to assure prospective new members about who and what we are as a guild.
Debbs has grabbed his chance after stating to me his intention to become an officer. I offered him the opportunity to prove his worth and he set about the task diligently, without fuss and although his efforts have had average results thus far, the ground work he is laying will pay dividends in the months to come as the guild grows on Ragnaros.
Recruitment is everyone’s responsibility but only one chief can post on the Blizzard forums. That job belongs to Debbs. Any Dambusters out there with additional networking to provide the guild with fresh blood should be in contact with the chief recruiter to ensure he is updated on possible player movements, other guild disbands etc.
He is already the most well known Dambuster around the server to date simply because he just talks to people all the time.
For any other Dambuster who would like an officer role, use the examples of guys like Debbs, Spyrot and the rest by actually making it your personal business to really find out what jobs the guild needs doing and prove you are right for the job by leading by example. Too many people ask for an officer rank in guild but use the position as a badge. These guys of Flight Sergeant and Warrant Officer in our guild are there because they have a job to do. That position can be replaced at anytime if someone is not performing so there are always opportunities for others who feel they can commit time and effort.

It is a pleasure to now be an Officer of The Famous Dambusters, I won’t let you down. Well, unless the odd individual is upset but my dark and twisted sense of humour. (To those people, I apologise in advance – now go and duct tape your hamster to your mother’s face) :p
For those who don’t really know much about me, I am an old school Vanilla player, that hit lvl 60 with 2 charas back in 2005. One of them being wee Debbs, the other is a shammy that is now called Debbø,
After hitting end-game content of brown box I drifted a bit, found a love of beer, girls and generally being naughty (don’t judge me) I came back for a 10 day trial during WOTLK, but found that it didn’t seem to stick.
This beautiful game then lay dormant in the dark corner of my hard drive, occasionally being moved as I upgraded my machines over the years.
Until that one memorable day whilst in work, I over heard someone chatting about a Holy Priest,
“What is this” I gasped
I was pleasantly surprised, finally someone in Saudi Arabia I can relate to, a friendly face among all the locals. But, to my horror it turned out to be a loud, obnoxious jock named Scott (Big Ticket) but I thought fu*k it!
I fell in love all over again, was like a new game to me, I had missed Debbs so much, I always felt that there was part of me that just wasn’t complete, that small hole inside that just couldn’t be filled, it was as if my third nipple had been re-attached, finally I was complete.
And them I got engaged!!!!!
To be fair, she is good as gold, and lets me play as much as I want, but I do feel guilty from time to time, shouting and screaming at the computer when epic loots do not drop, interrupting her from gerbil stuffing, but I will get her into the game, one of these days.
Enough about me, if anyone ever needs a hand with anything at all, in game help, life advice or even the use of a fully equipt sex basement – give Debbs a shout.
Recently I have spent time and effort trawling through the battle.net forums and alot of ingame dialog trying to recruit like minded and keen individuals to join our rag-tag bunch of misfits, I have had a few responses, and even gained a few friends, they will move eventually, oh yea!
Any help with recruiting would be amazing. You’ll get cuddles!
